Warning: Some of these books may be too difficult for just anyone- whether that be 'romance'-wise, politics, or something else, if you're under the age of thirteen, ask a parent or guardian's advice, please!
I love to read! (Well, obviously.) Books have shaped the kind of person I am and of the thousands of books I've read over the years, there are the ones I just keep coming back to. These are the books (well, series) I turn to in any situation - emotionally stressful, nauseous, bored, or I just don't know what to do with myself! These are, of course, in my personal opinion - and even if they don't mean as much to you, they mean a lot to me!
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling - This goes without being said, honestly. I read the entire series in a week in first grade. (Yes, I was a huge nerd.) That being said, I have probably re-read these books hundreds of times. Hermione is a hero, and as a young girl, I was a total rule-follower, and, if I'm being honest, a bit of a know-it-all. Throughout the series, she is later portrayed in a much more positive light and becomes a bit of a badass. I was able to emulate her example, I hope! I've been able to be a better, more loyal friend by her example.
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - Katniss is also a role model to me! I've looked up to her since I was probably eleven- so over four years. My personal favorite part of this series is her character development - although she keeps loyalty, her most amazing quality, she goes from a reluctant revolutionary to a fiery (almost-) martyr. Additionally, her relationships with Peeta and Gale are a source of interest to those reading for the first time, but I love going back knowing how that ends. I've read this series so many times even the most fast-paced scenes don't give me anxiety anymore!
